World Touring Car Building Rules

🏎️ Vehicle Modding Procedures & Regulations

If you are interested in creating a car for our series, please follow the mandatory workflow outlined below. This ensures all vehicles meet our performance standards and technical requirements.

1. Initial Approval

Before you start building, you must pitch your idea.

  • Action: Send a photo/concept of the car you plan to create to one of the Administrators.
  • Status: Do not proceed with the build until you receive "green light" approval from the team.

2. Development & Naming Convention

To keep our database organized, all project files must follow this naming rule:

  • Privacy: The mod must be uploaded as Private initially.
  • Prefix: The car name must start with wt2_ (e.g., wt2_skyliner_gt).

3. Technical Inspection (Scrutineering)

Once the car is uploaded to LFS, it will undergo a formal review.

  • Inspectors: J.welin and series administrators will check the mod.
  • Compliance: We will verify that the car follows all series-specific technical rules and physics balancing.
  • Final Release: Once approved, the mod will be switched to Public for the entire community to use.

4. Update Policy (Stability Clause)

We value the hard work players put into their car setups. To protect this:

  • Bug Fixes: You are allowed to fix genuine errors, glitches, or visual bugs.
  • No Constant Iteration: You may not constantly update the physics, chassis, or suspension.
  • Why? Frequent changes to the base platform break existing player setups. Once a car is cleared for the series, the platform should remain stable.

Obtaining A Mod To Edit

Important: The mod owner must permit 'derivatives' of their mod to be edited.

Derivatives are:

  • Any mod that is based on the original mod
  • Any mod that is based on a derivative of the original mod

Use the LMH tool to find mods that permit derivatives:
